brief_description
The richly illustrated catalog of the 14th Biennale of Image in Motion, revived by the Center d'Art Contemporain Geneva. The 2014 edition presents 22 new films and videos of artists, specially produced and commissioned by the Center (from September 18 to November 23, 2014). In 2014, the Center d'Art Contemporain Geneva relaunched a completely redesigned version of the Biennale, steeped in history bequeathed by André Iten and the Center for Contemporary Image, turned towards the future and committed to a young generation of artists . The originality of the new BIM lies in the fact that it consists exclusively of works in which the Center is both the sponsor and the producer, thus distinguishing itself from the usual format of biennials. For this 14th edition, under the artistic direction of Andrea Bellini - in collaboration with Hans Ulrich Obrist of the Serpentine Gallery of London and Yann Chateigné of the School of Art and Design of Geneva - the artists will present new works commissioned by the Center of Contemporary Art. With Gabriel Abrantes, Ed Atkins, Alexandra Bachzetsis, Mark Boulos, Alexander Carver & Daniel Schmidt, Benjamin Crotty, Basil Da Cunha, Andrew Hardwidge, Tom Huett, Pauline Julier, Mary Kølbaek Iversen, Isabel Lewis, Donna Kukama, Arvo Leo, Felix Melia , Heather Phillipson, Li Ran, James Richards, Jeremy Shaw, Carlo Gabriele Tribbioli & Federico Lodoli, Hannah Weinberger, Mai-Thu Perret, Luciano Giaccari, Mathieu Copeland.--from Centre of Contemporary Art Geneva website, translated from French.
