The final fictiōnella of the Lost Rocks (2017–21) library, Zinc Ore is a lyric petition, a capstone of sorts written through, and in companionship with, our entire five-year seam of mineralogical telling. Following the passage of zinc ore from western lutruwita/ Tasmania to the banks of tintumili minanya to the London Metal Exchange and global futures markets, Zinc Ore tangles together a rich geological past, the present (in its ecological, economic and political crisis) and trading futures. Zinc Ore draws into relation, one last time, the chorum of Lost Rocks artists and the absences they recompose. The value of this edition is tethered to the fluctuating price of zinc on the base metals commodities market. The price therefore is constantly updating to reflect this live data feed.
